Terms & Content Policy

Clear terms build trust. This page covers everything a creator with management or agency representation needs to review before applying — ownership, usage rights, disclosure requirements, and what happens if plans change.

Last updated: June 2026 · These terms apply to all creator collaborations confirmed on or after this date.

Content Ownership & Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership and intellectual property rights over all content created during your hosted trip with Explera DMC. Your photos, videos, written content, and all derivative works remain yours — always. Nothing in this collaboration transfers ownership of your creative work to Explera.

By accepting a hosted trip, you grant Explera DMC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to reshare, repost, embed, and display your published content on the Explera DMC website (influencers.expleradmc.com), official social media channels, and in promotional materials directly related to the creator programme. All such use will include clear and prominent credit to you — your name, your handle, or both as appropriate to the platform.

Explera DMC will not sell, license to third parties, or otherwise monetise your content beyond the promotional use described above without your explicit written consent. Any proposed use beyond programme promotion will be discussed with you directly, and separate terms will be agreed.

Exclusivity Window

We request — as a standard and reasonable industry practice — that creators do not publish content promoting a direct competing destination management company (DMC) in the same destination country for a period of 30 days before the start of your hosted trip and 30 days after the conclusion of your hosted trip.

This exclusivity request applies only to direct competing DMCs operating in the same destination country. It does not restrict you from publishing any other travel content — including content about other destinations, other types of travel partners (hotels, airlines, tourism boards), or personal travel content in the same destination that does not promote a competing DMC.

The purpose of this window is straightforward: it ensures that the investment Explera makes in hosting your trip is not diluted by simultaneous competing DMC promotions. This is identical to exclusivity windows used across the influencer marketing industry.

FTC / ASA Disclosure Compliance

All content published as part of your collaboration with Explera DMC must include appropriate and visible disclosure that the trip, experience, or components thereof were hosted. Accepted disclosure tags include #hosted, #gifted, or #partner — used prominently and not hidden among other hashtags.

For Instagram content: disclosure must appear in the caption (not buried after a "more" break) or as a clearly visible text overlay on Reels and Stories. For YouTube content: disclosure must appear in the video itself (verbal mention or text overlay within the first 90 seconds) and in the description text. For TikTok content: disclosure must appear as a text overlay or in the caption.

Compliance with FTC (United States Federal Trade Commission) and ASA (United Kingdom Advertising Standards Authority) guidelines is a condition of collaboration. If you are uncertain about disclosure requirements in your specific jurisdiction, your content brief will include the confirmed disclosure language, and our team is available to advise. Non-compliance may result in the removal of your content from Explera's promotional channels.

Content Delivery & Posting Timeline

Your content brief — received with your confirmed itinerary — specifies the agreed deliverables by platform, quantity, and format. This brief is confirmed before travel and constitutes the creative scope of the collaboration.

Standard posting window: all agreed content must be published within 14 days of your return date unless a different timeline is explicitly agreed in your content brief (macro-tier and flagship campaigns may negotiate extended windows).

If unforeseen circumstances prevent you from meeting the agreed posting timeline, communication is the only requirement. Contact your programme manager before the deadline passes — we will work with you to adjust the timeline. Failure to communicate is treated differently from failure to deliver.

Creators are always free to create and publish additional content beyond the agreed deliverables. The content brief specifies the minimum; there is no maximum.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

We understand that circumstances change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your hosted trip, we ask for a minimum of 14 days' notice before your scheduled arrival date. This allows Explera to reallocate resources and offer the slot to another creator.

Cancellations made with fewer than 14 days' notice — or no-shows without communication — will be noted in your collaboration record. While a single unforeseen cancellation will not automatically disqualify you from future collaborations, a pattern of late cancellations or no-shows will affect your eligibility for future programme consideration.

If Explera DMC must cancel or significantly alter your itinerary due to force majeure events (natural disasters, political instability, public health emergencies), we will offer to reschedule at the earliest mutually convenient date at no cost to you.

Travel Insurance & Liability

Creators are responsible for arranging their own comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, trip cancellation, personal liability, and equipment coverage. Explera DMC strongly recommends that creators carry insurance that specifically covers professional camera equipment, drones, and production gear.

Explera DMC carries public liability insurance for all arranged tours, transfers, and guided experiences. However, Explera is not responsible for loss, damage, or theft of personal equipment, nor for any costs arising from medical emergencies during your trip.

International flights are not covered under standard programme collaborations. Travel to and from the destination country is the creator's responsibility. Some flagship campaign partnerships may include flights at Explera's discretion — this will be explicitly confirmed in your itinerary if applicable.

Code of Conduct

As a hosted guest of Explera DMC, creators are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully toward our local teams, hospitality partners, and the communities visited. Harassment, discrimination, illegal activity, or behaviour that brings Explera DMC into disrepute will result in immediate termination of the collaboration and permanent disqualification from future programme consideration.

Respect for local culture, customs, and dress codes is required at all times — particularly at religious sites, in conservative communities, and during cultural ceremonies. Your local guide will brief you on specific cultural considerations for each location on your itinerary.

Drone usage must comply with local regulations in each destination country. Explera can advise on permit requirements, no-fly zones, and local restrictions, but the creator bears responsibility for compliance with local aviation and privacy laws.

Modification of Terms

These terms are reviewed periodically and may be updated. The terms applicable to your collaboration are those in effect at the time your content brief is confirmed. Any material changes to these terms will be communicated to creators with active or pending collaborations.

These published terms are a summary. Your individual content brief, confirmed itinerary, and any additional agreements made in writing with your programme manager constitute the full scope of your collaboration terms.

Questions About These Terms?

If you have questions about any of these policies — or if your management, agency, or legal representation needs clarification — contact your programme manager or mention your questions in the application form. We would rather discuss terms upfront than have uncertainty later.
